Julian Robert Prins (he/him/they, b. 2001, Pasadena, CA) is a multidisciplinary artist/curator from Monrovia, California whose mixed-media practice spans from painting, drawing, to carpentry/installation as well as ceramic and found object sculpture occasionally including automation. Currently based in Elysian Heights, California, Prins creates based on imagery, archives of his past work dating back to his childhood, and his collection of material which shapes his concepts and compositions through personal narrative and psychological metaphor. His work spurs conversation revolving around process, installation, memory, material, art history, and the human condition. He has exhibited throughout Los Angeles and Los Angeles county from places like Sierra Madre to Downtown, Chinatown Far East Plaza, Santa Monica, Mid-City and more.
