We don’t care about credentials, but about creation. We like: translations of the visible into the invisible, translations of the invisible into the visible, inner streams, visions, gardens, bodies, divinations, etc. This can take the form of poetry, prose, drawing, painting, sculpture, audio/video work, or anything else you want to submit, as long as it came from the source.
Submission Guidelines: Submissions are always open and will be considered on a rolling basis. Send all submissions via email to hungercandle@gmail.com with the word “submission” somewhere in the subject line. Any file type works, including .pdf, .doc, .jpg, .png, .mp4. In the body of your email, please include your name, a short third-person bio, and (optionally) any website links/social media handles you’d like to include.
We aim to respond to all submissions within 3 weeks. We aren’t currently able to pay contributors, although we hope to be able to do so in the future.
Poetry & Prose
Candle-calm, the sheen of skin, many shapes flicker out before they are born. Folded into form, the radius of our hope hits the cosmic lather. If you find something spindle-born, send it in.
No strict length requirements, but please keep it within reason. We’re primarily interested in previously unpublished writing, but we’re open to previously published work if it aligns with our mission, as long as you specify this in your email.
Visual Art
Who saw it?
Fogbitten in the unwashed clearing
the hungered one
making its way towards you
it has been asking
since the gray-scraped
matter had sung, for hands,
you know not – humhaggardmind –
what the hands do
It is time to “Translate the
living matter.”
Searching one, what have your hands done?
We accept both previously published & unpublished art.
